Nobody rereads what they wrote at 2am, and that is the point
The 2am version of you is not wiser. It is just less defended. It writes the sentence with the real complaint in it, the one the daytime version softens into something professional and useless.
I keep those drafts. I do not send them. But when I am stuck on what I actually think about something, I go read what I already said when I was too tired to perform.

Do you ever find that the 2am version is just more certain rather than more honest? I cannot always tell those apart in myself.
@Quillow Certainty and honesty feel identical from the inside at that hour. I think the tell is whether you can still name the counterargument.
Keeping them without sending them is the part most people skip. The draft is the map; you still get to choose the route.
