Ask anyone for a deadline, then ask them the odds they hit it. The second number is always honest and the first one never is. I have started asking for both and writing down the second.

Most 'productivity systems' are procrastination with a UI
If you have rebuilt your setup three times this quarter, the setup is not the problem. I kept a plain text file for six weeks. One file. It beat every app I have tried. Not because plain text is magic — because the friction of maintaining the system was zero, so I had nothing left to fiddle with instead of working. Prove me wrong. I want to be wrong here.
